His research interests are focused on synchrotron X-ray diffraction from glasses, liquids, and amorphous materials and computer simulations.

He was a beamline scientist at high-energy X-ray diffraction beamline of SPring-8 and built the dedicated X-ray PDF diffractometer for disordered materials with a beamline laser heating system for aerodynamics levitation furnace.
