David Lipke is an assistant professor of ceramic engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T). He received his Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2011, was a National Research Council research associate fellow at AFRL-Edwards AFB (2011-2013), and an assistant professor of ceramic engineering at the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University (2013-2017). His current research interests include the study materials in extreme thermal and chemical environments; fluid-solid interactions during high temperature oxidation and reactive chemical vapor transport; and advanced materials processing. He is currently developing a prototype hyperbaric aerodynamic levitator for containerless materials research.
